HeapDump in OutOfMemoryError

By the JVM-parameter

-XX:+HeapDumpOnOutOfMemoryError

an Heap Dump is put down in the work list with the ending .hprof.

The Heap Dump can be analyzed by the program JHAT which belongs to SDK.

A considerable extensive tool is the Memory Analyzer from SAP.
